Jonathan Rowe was born in 1977, in Buckinghamshire. From 1996 he studied at the University of Surrey with Peter Croser and Clive Williamson where he gained both BMus and MMus degrees. During his postgraduate studies Jonathan was granted the rare opportunity to work with Nikolai Demidenko.

During his studies, Jonathan took an active role in the University's concert series as a soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician, where he worked on several occasions with members of the 'Well Strung String Quartet'. In 1999 he received third prize at the annual Croser - Hughes Chamber music competition, for his performance of the Schumann piano quartet. 

He is the 2011 recipient of the John Burrows & Joe Miserendino memorial plaque awarded by St Mary's Church, Slough, to outstanding performers.  

In recent seasons Jonathan has given recitals in Slough, Windsor, Watford and Potters Bar. Concerto appearances include performances in the UK, Austria, and Germany.

In addition to being in demand as a recitalist, Jonathan is a highly experienced piano teacher having previously taught at both Ashfold, and Beachborough School. In September 2008, Jonathan was appointed piano tutor at Aylesbury Music Centre.
